What Is MACD?

When the shorter-term 12-period exponential moving average (EMA) crosses over the longer-term 26-period EMA a potential buy signal is generated. The MACD line is calculated by subtracting the 26-period EMA from the 12-period EMA, and the signal line is a 9-period EMA line. The signal line is usually a 9-period EMA of the MACD line. What is the best time frame for MACD?

This is also known as the MACD Line and the MACD Average. This is because the Diff Line measures the distance between the Value Line and the Avg Line. They have no distance to measure When they touch (during the cross-over). ZeroLine, UpSignal, and DownSignal are also present, but we can set them aside for now.

That’s because, in this case, an asset’s closing price tends to fall at the higher end of the range. The opening price, on the other hand, stays further down on the lower end of the range.
